Nursing - A thankless job

There are many professions in the world which are dedicated to lives and welfare of the others which requires a dedication and a lot of patience. Nursing is one of them. Since this pandemic, the medical staff has been working day and night for the patients. Doctors and nurses are working so hard that they have to keep the PPE kit, till their shift gets over.

Talking about nurses, their schedule is so busy that they can’t even rest for a while. You don’t know when the doctor will call you, or when any emergency case will come. Apart from that handling a patient, time to time checking the pulse rate, blood pressure, providing the medicines whether its day or night they are available for your care. They clean every patient who can’t do it by their own.

Nurses give so much of their services and care to patients but many people don’t consider it as a good job for girls, just because they provide love and care to the patients??

Don’t you now nurses need the appreciation and respect they deserve to keep them motivated and make them and their family proud.

According to report of WHO (World Health Organization), there was a global shortage of around 5.9 million nurses in 2018. The nursing profession is now expanding but insufficient to meet the demands due to population.

To achieve the global health development goals, it is necessary to create around 6 million new nursing jobs globally by 2030.

It is necessary that primary in low- and middle-income countries should develop workforce policies for the betterment of the global health.

Its time to motivate nursing education and engage our children in this thankless job and strengthen nursing leadership so that nurses should have the important part in creating health policies and the decision making.

There are also some plus points while choosing nursing as a carrier:

·       Nursing degree program exists everywhere

·       Many nursing students find financial aid opportunities

·       Nurses can choose their own specialty

·       Nurses can advance their careers

·       Nurses can work in a variety of different environment
